Scenic site of vast lava flows, said to be one of the world’s three amazing scenes. It is located in Joshin-etsu National Park, and certified as a “Geo-park at the northern foot of Mt. Asama”. It offers magnificent views of solidified lava that flowed from Mt. Asama during the eruption. With low humidity even in summer, the air is fresh. There is a regular bus service from Karuizawa Station.
